Niall James Horan was born in Mullingar, Ireland on the 13th September 1993 to Bobby Horan and Maura Gallagher. He attended Colaiste Mhuire, which was an all-boy school. He would often play local gigs, where he would perform with his guitar. Niall decided to audition for the solo category of the X-Factor in 2010, and when he didn’t qualify for the next round, he joined up with the other guys of 1D to enter into the Group category where they came third and began their new lives as teen heartthrobs.
Niall is the only
1D member who wasn’t born in England. He has a brother named Greg. Niall is
known as the comedian of the group, and he is often seen playing around with
the other guys in the band. Before the name “One Direction” was picked for the
group, he suggested that the band be called “Niall and the Potatoes”.
Niall has blue
eyes and his star sign is Virgo. He believes in no sex before marriage. While
it might not be obvious to fans watching Niall on stage, he has an Irish flag
pasted onto the bottom of his microphone every time he performs. He is shy
about his body, which is why he refused to remove his shirt for the music video
for What Makes You Beautiful. He has
said that he likes girls who have brown eyes, although he is incredibly private
about his love life. “Nialler” is his nick-name, he is left handed, talks in
his sleep and has only ever read To Kill
