Zayn Javadd Malik
was born on the 12th January 1993 in Bradford, England. While his
name might have originally been spelt as “Zain”, he prefers it with a “y”. The
literal meaning of his name is “beautiful” in Arabic. When he signed up for the
7th season of the show “The X Factor” in 2010, he signed up to
audition as a solo artist, but when he didn’t qualify, Simon Cowell decided to
add him to the already-formed group, One Direction.
Zayn is a Muslim
whose father is from Pakistan. He has brown eyes and an earring in his left
ear. He has three sisters; two younger and one older, and before he came onto
the show, he hadn’t ever had the chance to fly in a plane. Zayn dated Rebecca
Ferguson – another contestant on the show – and Belle Amie’s Geneva Lane in the
past. His dog is named Boris and his two cats are named Tom and Rolo.
He has confessed
to like intelligent girls, and enjoys drawing. Zayn smokes and doesn’t know how
to swim. When Harry got his very first tattoo, Zayn was there to hold his hand.
He is scared of heights, as well as the dark, and he has stated that he would
